L-001.1

Who we are

Varda Hale Architects, Lda. (“Varda Hale”, “we”, “us”) is an architecture practice registered in Portugal, with its studio at Rua do Bonjardim 1120, 3.º, 4000-123 Porto. We are the controller of the personal data described on this sheet.

This policy covers vardahale.pt and the brief form on it. It does not cover the websites we link to, such as press articles or map services.

L-001.2

Data we collect

We collect only what we need to reply to you and to keep this website running:

— Details you give us: your name, email address and anything you write in the brief form or in an email.

— Technical data: IP address, browser, device type and the pages you visit, recorded by our hosting provider and, if you agree, by our analytics tool.

We do not knowingly collect data from children, and we never ask for special categories of data such as health or beliefs.

L-001.3

Contact form data

When you send a brief we receive your name, email, project type, site location, budget band and message. We use them to reply, to arrange a site visit and, if we work together, to prepare a fee proposal.

The legal basis is the steps you ask us to take before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Submissions are delivered to our studio inbox by our website provider. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not share your brief outside the practice without asking you first.

L-001.4

Cookies & analytics

Strictly necessary cookies keep the site secure and working, and do not need your consent. With your consent, we use privacy-friendly analytics to count visits and see which sheets are read. These tools do not follow you across other websites.

You can accept or refuse non-essential cookies when you first visit, and change your choice at any time by clearing cookies in your browser. Refusing analytics does not change how the site works.

L-001.5

Retention

Briefs that do not lead to a project are deleted after 24 months. If we work together, project correspondence is kept for as long as Portuguese law requires for professional and tax records, usually ten years. Analytics data is kept in aggregate for no more than 26 months.

L-001.6

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you can ask us to:

— give you access to the data we hold about you, and a copy of it;

— correct anything that is inaccurate or incomplete;

— erase your data, or restrict how we use it;

— stop processing based on our legitimate interests;

— send your data to another provider (portability);

— withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what happened before.

We reply within one month. You can also complain to the Portuguese supervisory authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).
